for a highly at areas of eastern new england. for us, we're on the southern tail of all this. still, we'll feel the effects with big wind. look at the advisories up for a significant amount of snow that's expected to fall in areas of eastern new england, around boston, massachusetts and connecticut and high winds as well so they've got the blizzard warning that's been posted areas of eastern massachusetts and connecticut. newark almost an inch. caldwell in new jersey, 3 inches of snowfall in yonkers just over 2 as well. in that pocket of boston and through areas of connecticut even, a blizzard warning where they could see a foot to upward of 2 feet of snow. here's what they're expecting up through here. again, the higher snowfall amounts, the bull's-eye right there had. we'll be on the tail end of it all. still again, it's wind for us and the storm system, again, ramping up. look at radar right now. there's the area of low pressure moving up the coast and that other little piece sweeping in to meet up with it. an area of low pressure that will really allow this system to intensify. on our radar

the bunker and rescued the child. >> reporter: in a matter of minute, just after 3:00 p.m., agents used an explosive charge to blow open the entrance. they killed dykes, before taking the boy to a nearby hospital by ambulance. abc news has learned in the course of a week-long standoff, the fbi had created this mock bunker near the site. and had been using it to train for different scenarios to get the boy out. monday's raid was not the ending police had thought. they spent days negotiating with the decorated vietnam veteran, through a ventilation shaft. when the talks finally broke down, police say they had no other choice but to catch dykes by surprise. incredibly, ethan's mother had asked police days ago, not to kill dykes. >> she put her hand on the officer's heart and said, sir, don't hurt him. he's sick. >> reporter: you know, friends and family tell us that little ethan is a boy that loves to be hugged. and you can bet, he's getting those hugs today. >> thanks, gio. >>> joining us are ethan's great aunt and uncle. take us back to that moment when you first heard he was safe. >> i

everywhere. that is what john sibley has seen in hattiesburg. he jones us on the telephone. i'm here with our meteorologist chad myers. tell us what you saw. >> reporter: i picked up the tornado out of marion county, mississippi. there was initial report that came out of their emergency management agency that a tornado had indeed touched down and struck several homes, injuring several people. from there, i was able to pick it up about 10 miles to the west of hattiesburg. the storm was larger on the western side of the interstate than the eastern side. we've been able to go through and look at our video. now, the folks in west hattiesburg, i didn't hear sirens over there, but as we moved toward the college campus. the sirens were loud and proud. also want to give a shout out to the local fire department. as the tornado was paralleling highway # 8 and moving into the city. they were out there blocking traffic to keep folks from driving into the tornado as well as police out on the interstate. they had the interstate blocked for a time. >> chad myers, just amazing video we're watching here. what

of the developments for us from los angeles this afternoon. and again, we're waiting for that official announcement, john. but what are we hearing in terms of a dollar amount that's going to be offered? >> well, as you say, the "los angeles times" is reporting that it's going to be about $1 million. this is a joint fund put up by the city of los angeles, the city of riverside, where a policeman was killed on thursday, and the city of irvine, where two people, the first victims were believed to have been killed a week ago today. this money is coming from government organizations, from police law enforcement, from private donors, from corporate donors in the city, these cities. they say they've raised about half of the $1 million goal, but they sdpoekt gexpect to get tha million to put up for a reward for the information leading to the arrest and capture of dorner. the search is going on. the most visible part of the search up in big bear lake in the san bernardino mountains. very snowy up there right now. the san bernardino sheriff says they have about 25 officers out today supported by a helicopter

with normal video and this is me being shot with the eight millimeter application. the death tore showed us frame by frame where he used the app. one example, this aerial sequence. >> this is actually out of a flight window. it looks like real film. you can't tell the difference. >> reporter: he told us he also used the app to shoot video off a computer screen. his purpose was to get that '70s feel, the time when rodriguez, his subject, was actively making music. >> i filmed this with regular film, and i shot the computer screen, like that, so i got the super eight feeling. >> reporter: tracking down the creator of the app proved a challenge. we eventually located him in northeastern china where he was visiting. by skype he shared his reaction to finding out his app was used in an oscar nominated film. >> it's crazy. we are pretty thrilled. >> reporter: hearing about his app's connection to the film inspired him to watch "searching for sugar man." >> what did you think? >> it's quite a touching film. >> reporter: hong is a fan of the movie by beng lou is a fan of the app. nischelle turner,
